Inspired by the recent passing of her mother, whose fondness for Leonard Cohen’s ‘Take This Waltz’ became a main source of inspiration for her music, electronic musician and producer Katie Gately pays a powerful tribute to her in this video directed by Samantha Shay, which features the acclaimed dancer Bobbi Jene Smith.
This track has already had a lot of interest from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs at 6Music, with its delicate yet brooding melody and staccato lines. An album, ‘Loom’, is released on Feb 14th via Houndstooth.
