I’ve got a total gal crush on Charlotte Adigery. The twenty eight year old, based in Belgium, makes experimental electronica which is humorous, intelligent and future -focused. Her recent collaboration with Soulwax has received rave reviews.
Patenipat fuses Afrobeat with electronic dance music and the video is beautiful, like a sexy contemporary dance film.
Highlights is more retro inflected, and is a tongue- in -cheek look at black women and the need to change their images all the time with wigs and weaves. It’s extremely witty. I can’t wait to see what she does next.
