Scottish Dance Theatre have long championed daring, idiosyncratic choreographers. So it is with this new double bill, which starts at its base at Dundee Rep Theatre and will tour in the summer.Twenty five year old Botis Siva caught the eye of SDT’s artistic director Fleur Darkin, who, thrilled by his work at Sadlers Wells, has commissioned a piece for one half of this double bill called Tu Tu Mucky. It promises to be politically-minded, but with grace and humour. Siva himself describes his work as ‘post hip-hop theatre’.

The other half, Anton Lachky’s Dreamers, makes a welcome return after much critical and audience acclaim. It’s a unique piece indeed. With Lachky’s blurring of dreamlike and real states,it’s a sure-footed, surrealist romp , with robust cartoonish physicality, eccentric choreography and, at one point, even utterly bizarre language. A double bill not to be missed.
