Tasseomancy, a Canadian band consisting of twins Sari and Romy Lightman (ex of Austra) are an eccentric duo, weaving magical melodies into dream pop on latest album Do Easy which has been inspired by Burroughs’ philosophy of doing tasks simply and gently-‘a soft arrest’, for example. Also influenced by Genesis P-Orridge, Kathy Acker and other radical thinkers and artists, they are a cut above other indie artists.
The new video for single 29 Palms, out now, is absolutely stunning, combining puppetry, dance and surrealism and is directed by artist Jesi Jensen. It can be viewed below. Tasseomancy head out on a European tour at the start of next year.
